application
▷ pbs: your pb should follow the 5-year rule. five years older or five years younger than your character's age, but no more. this should go without saying, but deceased pbs should not be used.

▷ your username: usernames should be in character using only letters that are included in their name. extraneous letters, numbers, and underscores should not be used.

▷ aim: aim is optional and if you provide an aim name, it should also be in character. if included with your application, it will be added next to their name on the taken list. aim names created after application can be dropboxed to be added to the taken list.

▷ biography: your character's biography can be anything you make of it. we understand that it is sometimes hard to know your character unless you've been writing them for a long time. all we ask is that you provide basic information and at least five facts that make them who they are.

▷ examples: examples should include at least two samples of your writing in 3rd person narratives or 1st person updates. we do not require writing expamples for scenes. samples of your best writing are encouraged.

▷ contact: you should have a current screened post and friend's only post that are backdated so they do not appear on the friend's page. if you do not know how to backdate a post, the mods would be happy to provide instruction.


activity
▷ introduction: once you are accepted, you will have 72 hours to post an introduction in your character's journal or you will be up for removal.

▷ friends list: your friends list must be kept up to date. as we only have the storyline community, all updates, posts, ooc announcements and everything else will be posted in your character's journal. if you don't update your friends list, you will not see posts from new members and they will not see yours.

▷ update requirements: we would like to see something from you posted to the friends page at least twice a month. there will be a post where you can drop off links to check off your activity. characters may be up for removal if activity is not dropped off for the current month. what you post is up to you, we just want to see that you are around and active and give the other members a chance to interact with you.

▷ extensions and hiatuses: you may request a hiatus or an extension, but this privilege should not be abused. if a trend of needing an extension every month starts, you could be up for removal.

▷ adds and removals: adds will be done on a rolling basis and should be done no later than 48-hours after your application is submitted. removals will happen with adds for those who request it and at the end of the month after the activity check.


code of conduct
▷ ic/ooc line: by now this should be common knowledge, but crossing the ic/ooc line will not be tolerated. information you know does not translate to information your character knows. line crossing could result in removal. this includes passing information from one character you play to another. unless those characters know each other--and they should not if they follow the degrees of separation rule--they should not be passing information they otherwise would not know. please do not use your characters to manipulate others or try to get information from them.

▷ mutual respect: please respect your fellow players. if you do not like someone, avoid them. we do not want to have to deal with drama, but a mod will step in if necessary.

▷ difficult characters: we understand that some characters are not the nicest people, but if your character is continuously rude to other characters for no reason other than that's "how they are" you will be asked to leave. many people rp for distractions and escapes, and do not need their characters to be confronted with drama and uncomfortable situations that they do not ask for.

▷ number of characters: at this time, we do not have a character limit, but we ask that you do not play more than you can handle.

▷ degrees of separation: if you plan to play multiple characters, those characters should not be friends, family, or exes of your existing characters.
